The Black Whale @ Ipoh Soho

So finally I got here, cause it's been quite a rave about it. Everyone was comparing it to Daboba but let's just see shall we?







Black Whale MENU


Royal Whale Milk Tea (Large) - RM 8.90
Milk Tea itself is quite tasty, but its a bit on the sweeter side? Probably a bit too much as well.
The pearls however, is horrible. So so tough. But heard the Kampar branch isn't like that, so probably just different people do different quality of pearls eh?

Fiery B.S Black Whale Milk (Large) - RM 14.90

This however, terbalik. Brown Sugar Milk wasn't very nice, but the pearls were awesome!
So my suggestion is to get the one that's best of both worlds. The Brown Sugar Black Whale Milk Tea instead.


     
Dirty Mango - RM 12.90
Fresh mangoes but overall, not very fragrant surprisingly. 
It's just so-so to be honest. 

Brown Sugar Vanilla Ice Cream - RM 6.90
This taste like their milk tea but less sweetened. So can try this though!
Quite nice I would say.

Overall, can't compete with Daboba. I myself would think Daboba is much better than this.
In terms of tea, flavour and fruit juices.
Wouldn't be back again but will be back for the ice cream heh.

I've been eyeing to come to this bubble tea shop for quite some time. 
And finally I made it.

It's very floral inside, very modern chic if you will.


     

   
They also have another floor upstairs where you can enjoy peace and quiet, get your work done there.


   
It's like Italy romance in a shop.

They also have some hot snacks for you to enjoy with your boba.

     
Roasted Brown Sugar Boba Latte (Large)  - RM 13.90
In it, there's cheese on top, it tasted like cheese so its good.
The brown sugar pearls though, its alright, chewy but not hard to bite.

Brulee Milk Tea (Large) Add pearls - RM 13.40
Milk tea you can choose 4 different flavours, Everspring Green Tea, Oolong, Black Tea, or Jasmine Green Tea. I had the Everspring Green Tea and its flavourful. But the pearls were a nope. 
It's smaller than the black sugar pearls and its horrible to chew. So don't get the normal pearls la okay.

Cheese Milk Tea (Large) - RM 10.90
I had Jasmine Green Tea the second time and boy, it tasted just like the Jasmine Green tea from Instea but better. I didn't wanna add any of their normal pearls cause they ain't good so just a drink on its own is quite nice. Cheese is at the top so if you didn't mix it well then you couldn't really sip the cheese.

Pineapple Tea (Large) - RM 12.90
It's basically Ice blended pineapple and when you sip it, theres small chunks of pineapple.
It's freshly cut pineapples so it is very refreshing.
And it's more towards sweet with a bit our sourness inside. Probably because of the sugar syrup they added.


Overall, I like the place. 
Drinks were okie-dokie only. Would I be back? Yea, cause wanna try the other milk tea flavours. 
Not too bad. Let me know what you think.

Xing Fu Tang 幸福堂 @ Bandar Baru Medan Ipoh

Taiwan's No 1 Boba.
Some friends complained that it wasn't nice, some friends told me it was good. So hmmmmmm.

I was pretty shock when I went over about 4pm no wasn't a queue.

     
I feel so kesian to her cause you know they have to keep stir the pearls or else it'll harden.



So many staffs but no people in the afternoon or evening.

Mango Smoothie and Rabbit Panna Cotta - RM 14.50
I noticed almost every boba shops now coming out with a mango kinda drink so of course I was excited for this. 
But nope, this mango is tasteless. Panna Cotta was errr okay la. But overall for that kinda price? I will never in my life buy again.

Brown Sugar Boba Milk - RM 12.50
The hype of this in KL is insane but once I had a sip of it, it's just so, normal. Honestly, I was so disappointed about it.
There's nothing exciting. There's no different flavours. It's just like that. Ma ma dei.

Probably should try KL branch instead to see is it the same or just as horrible.
Definitely not that worth to go to in Ipoh.
Could try once just for the sake of your instagram profile and that's it.

Venzytea @ Soho, Ipoh

Inspiration of tea it said. 
So we came after their hype slow down so I don't need to queue. Ipoh Bubble Teas are opening like crazy.

So their menu has a variety of choices. Like from Milk teas to coffee and so much more.




     
Their design I would say its a bit futuristic yet minimalist?
I don't find it comfortable to sit in for a long time.

     
Venzytea MENU

A01 Brownx Venzy Tea - RM 9.90 (Regular)
I quite like this though. It's not very sweet, pearls are alright.
Surprisingly the taste is quite average, taste like any other Brown Sugar Milk Tea.

B01 Venzy Cheese Milk Tea - RM 11.90 (Regular)
This though, isn't good. 
Weird cheese taste that doesn't blend well with their milk tea and their milk tea tasted awful.
So, definitely a no to this.

Overall, I heard quite a number of "not so nice" about this place.
It's a half half to me. Brown Sugar was alright but milk tea definitely a no.
Their camouflage design totally ruin the look for their teas. If it could be half transparent would be better. But anyway, try for yourself to see if you agree with the others about this place being a no.
