Two Sons Bistro @ Starling Mall, Petaling Jaya

Hello hello! To my favourite restaurant!
Previously is favourite cafe so I now introduce my favourite restaurant hah.

Their main branch is at Publika, and I had there quite a number of times as well. Thanks to my cousin who introduced me to try back then.

The one is Starling Mall, what I've got to say is that there are at least about 30 tables in the whole area, but there were only 3-4 waiters. =="
They couldnt only handle so many tables la come on. Kesian tau.
And the queue outside is never ending one.

So outside you will find what they highlight on their specialty board.

Menu is here!

Wild Mushroom Soup - RM 22
Shiitake, oyster and white button mushrooms simmered in a rich potato and cream broth, drizzled with truffle oil.
Rich and creamy it is indeed. Quite filling as well if you felt half full.

Pasta Carbonara - RM 23
Creamy egg based sauce with parmesan cheese.
It doesn't look a lot but it does fill up your stomach quite fast because of the rich and creamy texture of the egg based sauce. Taste delightful.

Barramundi Fish and Chips - RM 35
Barramundi fillets coated in a light, crispy batter and served with coleslaw, french fries, malt vinegar, lemon wedges and tartare sauce.
The coating of the fish is crispy alright, and the fish isn't too dry either. Just right. Not oily too.

Pasta Aglio Olio - RM 21
Garlic, olive oil, cherry tomatoes, black olives, basil and finished with chili flakes.
Its not bland and its not too spicy because of the chili flakes either. It's just right with the correct amount of basil and the aromatic smell of garlic and olive oil together.

Pasta Meatball - RM 29
Lamb meatballs stuffed with quill eggs, simmered in a rich tomato based sauce.
The meatballs are huge! They are not dry but very tender indeed, even with the quill egg inside.

Grilled Salmon Steak - RM 36
Grilled salmon served with mashed potatoes, vegetables, topped with tobiko, with a creamy and spicy sauce.
The mashes potatoes were very creamy, salmon was cook to perfection. the skin was crispy!

Pasta Vongole - RM 30
Clams, garlic, sundried tomatoes, black olives and basil.
I quite like the taste of this but my husband couldn't quite accept because he said it felt like drinking soup. Hahaha. But they were generous with the clams.

Mussels (Main Size) - RM 55 (Chili Butter Cream Flavour)
They served with French Fries or Garlic Bread.
They have 16 flavours to choose from and the most popular flavour is this Chili Butter Cream.
It's creamy and spicy at the same time. Super nice kick.

Tenderloin Steak - RM 130/250 grams
Had this 3 years back and it was really good.
You have 3 different ways of potatoes cooked you can choose from and also a variety of sauce enhancements as well.

Overall, yes its good.
But if you want to try, maybe can try the one in Publika because the one in Starling Mall for now, they are very much short of staff. If you have no patience then don't go there okay.
Absolutely must try is their Mussels and Clams.
You won't regret it.

Restoran Makanan Laut Villa @ Sitiwan

So we had a short geatway cause I just couldn't face Kampar so much,
so we head off to Sitiawan to find some really really irresistible food.
Am very thankful that we had a tour guide friend who brought us everywhere, making sure we were all well fed.

Well, Sitiawan itself is famous for their seafood, so of course we had to have it.
Bringing us to a seafood restaurant which locals think its the best.
and it did not disappoint us.

菜胆 Stewed Vegetables
Nothing special about this dish, I guess everyone had this dish at home at least right?
It's a typical home cook vegetable but look at that green glaze on it!
Makes you wanna try doesnt it?

蚝煎 Fried Egg Oyster
This is one of their famous dishes.
Its very different from the ones in Penang because this is crispier than Penang's.
You don't smell the fishy smell of the oyster, so it taste delightful and crunchy at the same time!!

黑椒螃蟹 Black Pepper Crab
This was a little bit of a let down.
The black pepper taste was actually pretty good but the bad thing was, it was far too strong that it covered up the taste of the crab.
Such a waste though.

奶油虾姑 Butter Cream Mantis Shrimp
Well, we all call it "hako" and I never had it until 2 years back.
Although it looks pretty disgusting *when its not covered up with all that buttery thing*,
it taste very nice, like chicken! Nahh Im just joking.
It has its own flavorful taste.
and so the butter cream combination is just right, fried it, giving it a crunch.

An overview.

Yea well there's nothing much to post about compare to cafes cause well its a totally different environment kan?
But the shading coconut trees that surrounds the restaurant and the spacious area which welcomes a pack crowd on holidays are a breezeful enjoyable place to eat at.
None the less, this is where all the really good Chinese food comes from.
Made me miss my mom's cooking.
So yea overall? Food's great! No comment about the ambiance, though its open air.
Total Spending around RM 133.00+.

Restoran Makanan Laut Pertama @ Serdang

This is one of my unusual post.
Normally I would have cafes but it's so good that I had to introduce.

Hidden in the areas of Serdang, the dishes that they cooked are delicious!
Not hard to find, located by the side Sungai Besi highway, just need to keep your eyes open for it.

Well, they don't really have a menu on paper, but they would introduce you their specialty.
Which is what you must try, it should be good enough to be on their special.

招牌米粉 / Signature Vermicelli - RM 15
Looks so flat right but it taste delicious!

佛钵 / Yam Ring - RM 25
The yam is fried but its soft on the inside.
The sweet and sour chicken inside is crunchy and the taste of sweet and sour is well balanced.

油茉 / Stirred Fry Romaine Lettuce - RM 10
What else can be said about vegetables?
They looked so green!
Bringing a crunch to your mouth.

马来栈鸡 / Belacan Chicken - RM 15
Not like any other ordinary fried chicken
It brings a little heat because of the belacan.

葱油豆腐 / Onion Oil Bean Curd - RM 10
Silky smooth bean curd, it doesn't taste salty because of the amount of sauce that you see,
but it tasted just nice, smooth to perfection.

泰式鱼 / Thai Style Fish - RM 36
Cut into half and lay it flat to be fried, this thai style fish is something else!
Crunchy and giving a sweet and spicy taste from the sauce, it is one of their specialty!

Looked like any other normal restaurant, but they can really cook!
One of my ex-church member from my hometown church dine here very often,
and he brought us over and the food is delightful!
Total spending of RM 120.60, including rice and tea for all.
