Awesome Canteen @ Sekeping Victoria, Penang
So in December, near to Christmas, my uni housemate friend got married in Penang! So with this opportunity, we of course stayed back a bit longer to hop around some cafes in Penang.
So we googled as usual, to see what cafes are best to hop into. Chinahouse was overrated to me and been there before so, no Chinahouse lah okay.
And so we ventured upon Awesome Canteen! Which I didn't know they have one in KL also.
It was pretty difficult to spot it because the trees sort of covered up the entrance. We walked back and forth then only saw it heh. So it's actually opposite of the end of Chinahouse.
So inside is very, how to say, a mix of retro malaysian memories and a twist of modern together.
Because you'll see wooden and metal things are mix together that gives that kinda vibe.
So once you go in, this will be another entrance to the sitting area.
And on your right, you'll see some postcard or photobook about Penang that are for sale.
And on your left, you'll see the bar where they make your drinks.
After the entrance, the cashier booth will be on your left and a full display of awesome CAKES!
They also have a condement BAR, where you just get whatever chili sauce or tomato sauce that you need. Also plain water too! And it's pretty cool you get to see what cakes are available on that day.
So the sitting areas are all very unique and different from each other. All the chairs you see its like bringing back memories of your popo's house eh?
This look pretty unique but ain't sure if comfortable is the word for it.
What I love is the nature inside. Pretty cool with these trees in between ehh?

Avocado Banana - RM 15
Its thick for sure. Surprisingly blends well too.
It smells like avocado, but taste more on banana.
Mushroom Swiss Cheese Melt Beef - RM 23.90
You can choose Chicken or Beef patty, price differ, comes with sauteed mushrooms, lettuce, tomato slices, caramelized onions, melted swiss cheese and burger buns. With side spicy fries.
I think this is a good burger.
It tasted sweet from the caramelized onions and the mushrooms gave a bit of a kick.
Peanut Butter Chicken - RM 23.90
You can choose Chicken or Beef patty, price differ, lettuce, tomato slices, homemade peanut butter, sharp cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and burger buns, with side spicy fries.
This is one unique burger, I mean come on, Peanut Butter.
Surprisingly, it works but after 5 bites, you'll feel stuffed.
Unless you are a person with a big appetite, you won't be able to finish this.
An Overview.
Overall, the food is quite nice.
Environment is lovely, cozy and nature-ish.
Sad part was, we got there at 3 something, all the food was sold out except the burgers and sides.
So yea, wanted to try some other stuff :(
