So this is in one of my list to go to this year, ever since the spontaneous cafe hop in June, and I couldn't wait to come back to Penang for more.
There's not a lot of space on the ground floor. And we were seated next to the bar table, and people kept walking through us, it was extremely uncomfortable.
As you can see, they have a lot of space upstairs but the waitress said we have to book in advance to make a reservation to be able to sit upstairs. Mmmkay. Whateves.
Wheeler's MENU
Iced Caramel Macchiato - RM 14.90
Just like any other, this however has nicely balance the coffee texture.
Avocado Mango Milkshake - RM 18.90
I'm not a very big fan of avocado but this taste really really good.
It was a really hot late afternoon, and this was just perfect.
Banana Pancake - RM 13.90
Hearty layered buttermilk pancakes filled with fresh banana and finish with homemade granola, fruits and maple syrup.
Pancakes were fluffy but not too fluffy, fresh fruits and granola taste amazing!
Truffle Spaghetti Carbonara - RM 24.90
Spaghetti pasta, onion, white truffle oil, smoked turkey bacon, mushroom and creamy alfredo sauce. Topped with egg yolk, parmesan cheese and toast of focaccia bread.
Licked the plate clean. So cheesy and creamy, and the truffle oil elevates the flavour.
Espresso Chicken - RM 22.90
Pan grilled boneless chicken thigh, mashed potato, buttered vegetables, asparagus, espresso coffee and creamy sweet white sauce.
The sauce is sweet so the espresso gives it a nice balance. I love how the chicken was cooked to perfection.
An Overview.
HOWEVER,
I seriously couldn't care less if you have trip advisor excellent award for how many years, I honestly just want to eat in peace. Probably caught me at a very bad timing, as just finish work and so exhausted and hungry for food, my mood wasn't that great. Seated next to such a busy lane, lagi tak syiok. And with the bar shouting out and about, singing along to some tunes, I just couldn't. No matter how good the food is, service must be top, if not, I just wouldn't go back again.
