Atas Speakeasy @ Ipoh Town

Hidden Bars are a thing now aren't they?
Well, they have been a thing for some time and Ipoh has got a few good ones too!

So basically you got to find this door, and push it to the right, and a staircase will appear in front of you and walah, Atas it is.

So its quite dark inside and I just used my phone to capture in nightmode, hopefully does its justice hah. Space is quite limited and they are quite packed every night.

It was the second time I went and they had open house that night, hence the buffet table.

Atas MENU

Popcorn Chicken - RM 12.00
Not quite sure what the sauce was but it was gooooood. Love the crunchiness of the chicken and so flavourful too!

Thrift Store Hipster - RM 30.00
Tequila Blanco, Hazelnut Liqueur, Pineapple Juice, Housemade Spearmint Syrup, Lime Juice.
This had a very fresh, light and cool feeling after drinking it.

White Rajah - RM 38.00
Vodka, Housemade Tuak, Housemade Ginger Syrup, Lime Juice, Beer.
Tuak taste is strong but once the ice melts, it dilutes into a taste of sweet beer. As quoted by my friend hah.

Creole Mulatto - RM 38.00
Caraway Infused Tequila Blanco, Dry Vermouth, Housemade Sauerkraut Brine, Gentian Liqueur, Housemade Orange Liqueur, Lime Juice.
This though, was quite strong after sipping it down. It was a bit too much for me but for those who love alcohol, would love this.

Candy Wonderland - RM 22.00
Housemade Rhubarb Shrub, Strawberry Sparkling Grape Juice.
This is a mocktail and I love the strawberry sweet taste of it.

Custom Order (Something Special) - RM 42.00
This had a very strong orange smell but it was mix well with alcohol. Tasted like orange juice but enough alcohol to make you go a bit tipsy.

Custom Order (Something Pretty) - RM 42.00
Pretty presentation but the taste had a flower tea to it. Sweet but with alcohol.

Custom Order (Something HOT) - RM 42.00
This tasted like Creole Mulatto, absinthe was strong but it had the mint flavour in it.

Custom Order (Something Cool) - RM 42.00
This tasted like the left with strong absinthe but even stronger in absinthe.

It was a wonderful open house as there was lion dance and super cute "Chai Sheng Ye" and the longest Yee Sang I ever had. Haha. It was really a great night!

Overall, the staff were very attentive, bartender is really friendly who has a sense of humour. Could see lao ban niang walking around, smiling to all clients. I really like this place and hence brought my friends who loved alcohol over to try it. And obviously they were not disappointed at all.
Although the price was very "atas" but worth the price paid for.

Plan B @ Ipoh

Finally get to try Plan B in Ipoh.
Wanted to come here for a long long time but couldn't find the right people to go with.
Cause what I heard about, they are not cheap at all.

From an old warehouse, to something so spectacular
It's hard to resist to walk in and have a cup of tea to chill.

There were a lot of Yasmin's art hanging around the area.
Good read though.

Opposite of the cafe, there are a few arts and crafts stalls.
and what they are selling are pretty unique.
Will find a time to look further to blog about them another time :)

So they have an indoor and outdoor place for you to chill around.
Well it was cooling enough, don't think we need any cold air conditioning in our face.

Menu time!
Like they say, it's not exactly cheap but not entirely expensive also la.

I wish my stomach could fill in more than a slice of cake.

Chamomile - RM 10

Ice Apple Mint Tea - RM 10
Lychee Lime - RM 11

Lemon Meringue Cake - RM 13

An overview.

Wanted to try their Chocolate Cake but they say tarak :(
but their Lemon Meringue was not bad!
Better than the one I had at Espressamente Illy at Pavillion
That was far too sweet. Urgh.
Drinks was okay and the environment is nice.
Very green and all.
Giving the nature vibes with the sunlight shining through *not literally*
Total spending of RM 51.05, government tax and service charge included.

Fuzio Coffee House @ Changkat [CLOSED]

*Sponsored Review*
Was so happy to be invited to write a review on this cafe!
How amazing is that?!
The place is cafe by day and bar by night.
Building is owned by the bar owner, therefore, the owner of the cafe business shared the place and there are two business that runs in a day.

In the streets of Changkat, it's not all bar and drinks you can find.
If you want to have breakfast, brunch or lunch, this is the place to be at!
Italian cuisine can never go wrong.

With a modern interior, the place is well decorated.

Because its a bar at night. hence the amount of wine you can see behind the bar table.

Artworks that hang on the walls, amazing canvas artists are selling them and you can just get it here!
The artworks change every month.
So take a lookout if you're interested in buying canvas.

The place is a 3 storey floor building.
With each floor have their own decoration and design.
Ground floor is shown on all the previous pictures above and first floor is covered with simple modern interior.

Private meetings and functions are available to be held on the first floor where it has a bigger space to hold 20 to 30 people.

Top/Second floor is the rooftop!
Usually opens for the bar at night, where DJ's are invited to spin and dart machines are active.

and to top off with an amazing view of KL.

MENU TIME!!!

Grilled Salmon with Pasta
It brings a little bit of heat.
With its spiciness from the pasta, its brings a little flame in your mouth.
and the salmon is just awesome.

Lemon Chicken Breast
The mushrooms are to clean off the palette from the lemon flavour.
It's so good, as well as the little cube of potatoes.

Creamy Mushroom Salmon
Covered with mashed potatoes, the creamy mushroom sauce flows out of it when you cut it through.
With cubes of salmon and broccoli to shine up the dish, it is splendid!

Salmon Lover
With salmon that is fresh, and cook to perfection
It is a dish to try!
The risotto is amazing, imported all the way from Italy, the mushroom cream cheese blends so well with it.

Shakerato Lychee - RM 10
The coffee isnt really that strong which is SO for me.
As the lychee flavour covers it up, and when you drink it,
the coffee and lychee flavour somehow blends into giving you some sort of watermelon taste.
It's so unique!

Tiramisu Latte - RM 12
One of their signature coffees, this is my favourite!
The coffee beans that they use are from Indonesia, giving it such a nice smell.

Cafe Latte - RM 10
Latte is of course latte.
What is latte without coffee art?
and ohh, the cookie is baked by the owner himself and it is delicious!
Am waiting for him to sell it in packets so I can take back home and noms next time.

An overview.

I am certainly impressed by this cafe.
The owner of the cafe, Mr. Henny, treated us so nice!
With his experience in the FandB industry for over 13 years
He does make sure that everything is to perfection.
Even gave us a tour on each floor of the cafe and explaining, giving information on the cafe itself.
Started not long ago, *2 months to be exact*, this cafe has so much to offer!
The food, the drinks, the ambiance, is just WOW.
Their set lunch is only RM 14.90 with coffee or tea.
Come on. How can you find such a price in KL, and with the food presentable as that?
You'd be crazy not to try out this new cafe!
