The Morning After @ M Roof, Ipoh

9:15 PM Felicia Grace 0 Comments

Brunch. Is my favourite meal of the day. There's nothing more delightful than seeing a plate of colourful and scrumptious food on the table when you wake up in the late morning.

Located just beside the M Roof Hotel's main doors, it's definitely not difficult to spot it.
On the left of M Roof Hotel will be the Old Town White Coffee Grand, yea Grand.
On the right will be Morning After!

Since now it's Christmas season, inside of M Roof is well decorated with pretty lights and Christmas ornaments in their lobby.
It's difficult not to notice it as their decoration is so pretty!

So  I guess it's enough about the hotel that looks ohh so fancy, time to show you the cafe instead!

When you turn to your right upon entering M Roof Hotel, you'll see a huge vertical menu shown outside the cafe.
The non-existent door is not very big and just walk right through it.

The Beer Factory Express is joined together with Morning After is the same location.
So don't be alarmed if you think you entered the wrong place.

The cafe is actually very spacious, lots of tables and chairs, good for group outings or group brunch.
I was actually quite surprised that there were only one or two tables occupied on that Saturday morning.

MENU!!!
One thing I find a bit hilarious is that they have numbers at the bottom right of the pictures but there were no numbers shown on the menu. I didn't know the picture was for which dish.

They do have other dishes other than brunch, their pasta looked so delicious just by reading the description of each pasta dish.

They do also offer a selection of cakes that are by the counter.

Salted Caramel Macchiato (Cold) - RM 14.00
This was just nice!
The salted carael at the bottom blends with the coffee, the balance of both were just right.
Not too sweet, not too bitter.

Mocha (Hot) - RM 14.00
Cafe art on top is as usual.
The chocolate and espresso were mixed well.

An American Dream - RM 25.00
You have eggs of your choice, scrambled or sunny side up, roasted potatoes, beef bacon or turkey ham, chicken sausage, buttered bread, sauteed mushrooms and tomatoes.
The sauteed mushrooms were a bit too salty, others were all alright. My favourite was the roasted potatoes because they were fragrant and not too soft or too hard.

Soft Shell Crab Pasta - RM 34.00
Pasta with Neapolitan sauce, rocket salad and fried soft shell crab.
The aromatic smell of the soft shell crab filled our noses when it was served.
Sauce is quite nice, and overall, a good combination of pasta and crab.

An Overview.

Overall, the food is great, compare to the other cafes in Ipoh.
As this cafe is opened in the many places of KL, the taste is quite promising here in Ipoh.
I could now understand why there were not many people as their prices are quite sky rocket high.
Ipoh has not reach to that potential yet like in KL.
And please remember to bring enough cash as their credit card machine always seem to have some problems.

Royal Tea @ Greentown, Ipoh

8:39 PM Felicia Grace 3 Comments

When bubble teas are deteriorating and cafes are going up the hill,
I'm just surprised there a new bubble tea-ish that came to town.

In the inside, it does look fancy.
A cool place to hang out and all.

Hello to my  student who is block my view.
So you have to order at the counter and they will give you the menu beforehand.

It was just so crowded so we had to sit outside.
Not bad too because it was quite a cooling night.

MENU!!!
So the menu is just that.
You choose which kinda beverage you would like and you can add on some other things onto it.

This is the Chinese version of the menu at the back of it.

They also do provide some snacks.
But so many already sold out lol.

They also do serve cakes and I heard their mille crepe cake is quite nice.

Royal Milk Tea (Oolang Tea) with Black Pearls - RM 10.90
So the taste is somewhat okay that I can still drink it.
However, it came after that. I know when I had bad tea or coffee when after a while I feel like puking.
So yes, I did feel like puking afterwards.
The pearls were so harden and just not tasty at all.

Matcha top with Durian - RM 13.90
In between the Durian topping and the Matcha, there's also red beans.
Durian taste quite nice.
It was a creamy texture thats quite tasty.
Matcha was alright, red beans too.

So overall,
I would not go again for sure.
Because of what I had and felt like puking because of the tea.
Also because of the price. I could eat another meal with that price.
We still had a great laugh because my students that you see in the pictures had nothing better to do than to spit out red beans or black pearls into the cigarette tray.

So one of the places that I would love to travel to that is in my bucket list is BALI! I've no idea why but I'm so intrigue by the beautiful scenery and the historical temples that had been there for a long time. And the time has come as my husband and I will be going for our honeymoon next month!

1. Scenery

Other than the historic temples to visit, Bali is also well known for their waterfalls. Well, from what I read on Trip Canvas, there are at least 9 spectacular waterfalls that is a must to see. If you are a nature lover, this can definitely be on your bucket list to just visit the soothing wave sounds of the waterfalls in Bali.

If you're really interested in the waterfalls of Bali, here's a link and guidelines on how to get to the each of the specific waterfalls. Bali Waterfalls Guide, a very detailed guideline to the waterfalls in Bali.

For those who loves an adventure, getting those early morning hikes to see the sunset by Mount Batur is definitely worth it. There are many tour guides that you can book online and even though the steps to get there ain't easy, it is definitely breathtaking when you reach the top. Now let's just hope another volcano, Mount Batur, won't erupt.

Gates of Heaven. They are called the Candi Bentar, usually appears before you reach the temple. Their architecture to the heavily decorated gates are very mesmerizing. For those who wishes to get instaworthy shots, well, these balinese split gates are definitely a win.

2. Food & Drinks

When you visit another country, not only just to see the fantastic view of their scenery but also to try out their amazing food! I've did some research, there are tons of food to try on when I get there! Not sure if my stomach can take it though. There's Babi Guling, BBQ Pork Ribs, Satay, Bebek Betutu, Nasi Campur, Lawar, and even their Nasi Goreng taste different than the ones we have in Malaysia!

Besides the wonderful balinese food, there's also their famous drink! The Kopi Luwak! Also known as the Poop Coffee. It's basically an Asian palm civet eats coffee cherries and once the cherries were digested, it poops out and walah! If you think it's sounds icky-yucky, there are also many more drinks that Bali is well known for, such as their coconut water, Balinese herbal drink, palm toddy and Indonesia's favourite beer, Bintang.

3. Villas

The best part about Bali is staying in Bali! There are tons of affordable villas that has their own private pool! How cool is that! You can check it out here Private Pool Villas to know which villa has them and affordable too! We actually booked one in Ubud and in Uluwatu that both have their own private pool. Talk about skinny dipping.

4. Market

Another famous part of Bali is their markets! Their markets sells EVERYTHING. From storage boxes, to basket bags, jewelry, batiks, sarongs, straw hats and many more. To be at these markets, one must know how to haggle the prices. Always take your time to look through things you wanna get. I might get something back to put in my house too!

So obviously, you can't drive your way to Bali from Malaysia, you gotta sit the plane!
Now I've looked though a few sites and came upon this website, Air Asia Online Booking.
I found it really easy to use and I have regretted because we bought our flight tickets on Air Asia's official site and not on Traveloka. Apparently, it was at least RM 100 cheaper for one way ticket. *groans*

Step 1 - Choose your flight destination
Step 2 - Choose your date of flight and whether its a one-way or return ticket
Step 3 - Search flights with number of passengers and choose a seat class of your choice, Economy,                Business or Premium Economy

It's just that simple!

If there are any other places to go that you would like to fly to, Traveloka has Cheap Flight Tickets that you are looking for! So upon regretting that we did not got our flight tickets from Traveloka, we had another booking to make and we seize the opportunity!

Not only you can book your flight tickets but also hotel rooms too!

As easy as 1, 2, 3. Just type in the destination or hotel name, your duration of stay and select the number of guests and rooms and start searching!

And all the hotels will pop up! Showing you the most popular and cheapest rates you'll ever get.
You can easily choose by sorting the results, limit the price range and choose a star rating for the hotel you're looking for.

Next, you get to choose the room you want. Always look out for rooms with or without breakfast, they do have a slight change of price on that. After that, you just key in your details and pay! That's it! Easy peasy, lemon squeezey.

So keep an eye for Traveloka if you're looking to get the best flight tickets or hotel room rates!
