The Whale Tea @ Soho, Ipoh

Don't get confuse, this is not The Black Whale. Apparently is another whale. Hahaha.
So let us see shall we.

Also has the same whale fin as The Black Whale.

I honestly wonder what are the differences between the two whale bubble tea shops. Cause they are both quite alike.

 The Whale Tea MENU

Flame Glazed Whale - RM 12.90
This is the one is the cheese on top.
Tasted just okay okay only bah. Not very interesting.
Couldn't really taste the cheese as well.

Black Sugar Glazed Tea - RM 10.90
This is with milk and the black sugar boba.
Hmmm, not very much to like liking though this one. But the bobas were nice nice to chew.

Baixiang LiuLi Tea - RM 14.90
It's basically fruit tea.
Passion fruit and some others such as watermelon and all.
Very much refreshing.

Lightning Sea Salt Ice Cream - RM 10.90
This tasted a bit weird though. Like medicine hahaha.
So I wouldn't recommend this.

Overall, this just another normal bubble tea shop.

Nothing really interesting.
Good to give just one try.

Gao Enough @ Georgetown, Penang

So I saw one of the Facebook post about this place. It used to be Gao x Ludwig, Ludwig as is their own softserve brand and now its no longer affiliate with the milk tea brand. But fear not! There's still ice cream but probably their own brand la. But hey, give me them diabetes. *laughs*

It's really small inside, so it's best to have it while walking around Georgetown.
Just go counter buy and cabut.

Gao Enough MENU
If you look at it properly, the names of the milk tea is a bit "hamsup".

Dreamy Creamy (Hidden Gem) - RM 15.00
So this is not in the Menu, it's THE hidden item.
It's the one where Facebook got quite viral about, the milk tea and the ice cream together.
You can just order from the counter regarding the hidden gem.
The Ice cream flavour I had was Sea Salt, it was quite good, and after you finish it, give back the bottle to the counter and they will seal your drink and you can goyang goyang it.
There were 3 kinds of pearls in it, I really like the Diamond pearls, you get to chew something but its not that tough. Oh and it's milk if you're wondering, so basically milk with ice cream and bobas.

Humsup Milk Tea (Large) - RM 11.90
So, this is their famous drink, very humsup indeed.
It taste quite salty if you ask me. So maybe that's why they call it humsup?

TVB Taro Vanilla Banana (Large) - RM 11.90
This Yam flavour is so strong but you still can taste a little bit of banana somewhere haha.
It's quite an exciting flavour but it got a bit too much when we finish it. So probably a regular would be enough.

Overall, it's a small place. So probably best if you order a takeaway.
The hidden gem drink was just a so-so for me. It did light my eyes up with the ice cream on top but flavour was just okay la. It wasn't very Gao for me la haha.
They got quite a lot on their menu items but I think I've drank enough boba for a lifetime.

Raion 狮子堂 @ De Garden, Ipoh

Another Boba, Gosh. I feel my stomach is made out of bubble tea nowadays.
But few people told me about this, and they said its good so let's try it out.

I love how the lion's head with it's mouth open gives such a big statement of the place.
Not sure where they get the term King of Boba from or are they really? haha

 Raion MENU

Raion Brown Sugar Oatmeal - RM 13.90
I find this very interesting!
Seems like no one has this yet I think and its something very unique.
It's sweet but not very sweet that kind la. And the oats that you have on top, mix it well and drink it together, its so good though.
Weird combination but it works!

Four Season Milk Tea - RM 9.90
Both have Brown Sugar pearls and I got to say I love them! Soft soft squishy pearls.
This milk tea is somewhat like The Alley's milk tea, very very fragrant.
It has that elevated tea taste with it.

Overall, would definitely come back to try other items on their menu.
It's quite good considering their Top 2 drinks are awesome.
Only thing is they only have it in one size.
King of Boba? What do you think?

Tiger Sugar @ Ipoh Parade

The very famous boba is in Ipoh town!
Let's see if it taste like KL outlets.

Not a lot of difference cause the space isn't that big.

 Tiger Sugar MENU
I realise its all Brown Sugar only. A bit hmmm.

Brown Sugar Boba Milk - RM 12.90
Basically Brown Sugar Pearls and Milk

Brown Sugar Boba + Pearl with Cream Mousse - RM 12.90
Brown Sugar Pearls and Smaller Normal Pearls and Cream Mousse.
I cannot really tell the Cream Mousse in it.

There's actually not a lot of difference between the drinks I feel.
It sort of taste the same everywhere. Basically Brown Sugar + Milk lo.
But it's good la. Really nice to bite and its soft. Pearls were the smaller ones and quite nice to chew also. But glad to know its the same as the outlets in KL.

The Black Whale @ Ipoh Soho

So finally I got here, cause it's been quite a rave about it. Everyone was comparing it to Daboba but let's just see shall we?

Black Whale MENU

Royal Whale Milk Tea (Large) - RM 8.90
Milk Tea itself is quite tasty, but its a bit on the sweeter side? Probably a bit too much as well.
The pearls however, is horrible. So so tough. But heard the Kampar branch isn't like that, so probably just different people do different quality of pearls eh?

Fiery B.S Black Whale Milk (Large) - RM 14.90

This however, terbalik. Brown Sugar Milk wasn't very nice, but the pearls were awesome!
So my suggestion is to get the one that's best of both worlds. The Brown Sugar Black Whale Milk Tea instead.

Dirty Mango - RM 12.90
Fresh mangoes but overall, not very fragrant surprisingly.
It's just so-so to be honest.

Brown Sugar Vanilla Ice Cream - RM 6.90
This taste like their milk tea but less sweetened. So can try this though!
Quite nice I would say.

Overall, can't compete with Daboba. I myself would think Daboba is much better than this.
In terms of tea, flavour and fruit juices.
Wouldn't be back again but will be back for the ice cream heh.

Teadayz @ Bandar Baru Medan Ipoh (Simee)

So this opened as well, same row as Xing Fu Tang, and crowded when it first opened.

It got me thinking that most bubble tea shops do spend a lot of money on decorating their place. But, it all looks the same, gold, white and pink.

The chairs werent very comfortable to be honest.

Teadayz MENU

Roasted Chessy Bobo Milk - 11.90
The top is quite nice but not the pearls somehow.
Overall taste, I wouldnt give a second chance at it.

Messy Mango - RM 12.90
Mango doesnt seem very fresh to me, probably already ripe for too long.
Overall just so-so, nothing really fancy from all the mangoes I've tried from bubble tea shops.

There's actually a lot of workers but one staff (probably the boss) just took control of the entire system. From the counter taking orders, to making the drinks, to getting customers to collect their drinks. I could see why the drinks are flawed cause its basically a one man show.
Not sure what's going on but yea when you got staff, use them and not take control of the entire business yourself unless you run it small scale. Watched too much of Hell's Kitchen to know these. Hah. So, nope, I'm not going again.
