Anson Bali Cafe @ Teluk Intan

So was in Teluk Intan during Chinese New Year and well there's nothing much to do than to yumcha so here we are at a fancy place that I've seen many times passing by it.

So the inside is sort of the Ipoh Bali Hotel feel from the front entrance. But inside is a mixture of designs which I honestly feel it was a bit too much?

Desserts! Yums!

Anson Bali Cafe MENU

Iced Green Tea Latte - RM 11.90
Apparently this didn't taste so good. Guessed the matcha powder wasn't the best one used.

Iced Latte - RM 10.90
This is quite alright. The normal latte taste where you get at all cafes.

Iced Chocolate  - RM 10.90
I felt that the chocolate wasn't "gao" enough, the flavour just wasn't really there lah.

Brown Sugar Bubble Milk - RM 5.00 (Discounted offer price)
Original price - RM 12.90

This taste quite good but it was so damn sweet. Honestly don't quite know how they mix their drinks hahaha

Blue Ocean Sparkler - RM 10.90
Sparkling soda tasted great, I like this flavour. Very very refreshing.

Bellagio Chocolate Smoothie - RM 13.90
This chocolate however is quite good, compared to the iced chocolate.

Belgian Waffle Chocolate - RM 12.90
This is really good, whipped cream was obviously tasted from the can but its good. The waffle crisp is nice too, the chocolate ice cream inside was also quite delightful. A good treat for tea time.

Overall, the drinks I felt there is much more to improve. The food that we didn't ordered but I saw everyone else eating around, was big in portion. So although the prices are quite high consider being in just Teluk Intan, with a generous portion, everyone would come for it.

Small Fish Restaurant 小鱼夫 @ Jalan Seenivasagam, Ipoh

So this new restaurant is so hot and popular right now!
Who would've thought to just use fish as main and that's it? So smart!

I loved the interior. Clean, neat and tidy. And bright. Relaxing ambiance to eat in.

Really like their lit up sign boards in the shop. Makes the whole place quite vibrant with their menu colors.

So their rice, you can refill! So those eaters who love rice and can't live without rice can definitely come here and binge on white rice.

小鱼夫 MENU

Pickled Cabbage with Grilled Fish - RM 18.00 (Single Portion)
We add on potatoes and dried bean curd in both so it looks a lot haha.
I personally like this taste. It gives a bit of sour taste from the pickled cabbage and goes really well with the rice. The fish though, so good.

Ma La Grilled Fish - RM 21.00 (Single Portion)
If you can take spicy food then this is the one for you. Their Ma La is really very the "La". No joke, not for the weak hearted lol. Fragrant with spiciness and yet satisfying with burning sensation.

Overall, I would be back for the other 3 taste. Simple menu which gives you less time to think of which you want to eat. Although it looks huge for a single portion but the fish fillet inside is really just enough for one person. Fish is not cheap so I wouldn't really complain much though I feel there should be more fish meat la. Heh. Great place, and very crowded with people around, cause it's good!

Atas Speakeasy @ Ipoh Town

8:27 PM Felicia Grace 1 Comments

Hidden Bars are a thing now aren't they?
Well, they have been a thing for some time and Ipoh has got a few good ones too!

So basically you got to find this door, and push it to the right, and a staircase will appear in front of you and walah, Atas it is.

So its quite dark inside and I just used my phone to capture in nightmode, hopefully does its justice hah. Space is quite limited and they are quite packed every night.

It was the second time I went and they had open house that night, hence the buffet table.

Atas MENU

Popcorn Chicken - RM 12.00
Not quite sure what the sauce was but it was gooooood. Love the crunchiness of the chicken and so flavourful too!

Thrift Store Hipster - RM 30.00
Tequila Blanco, Hazelnut Liqueur, Pineapple Juice, Housemade Spearmint Syrup, Lime Juice.
This had a very fresh, light and cool feeling after drinking it.

White Rajah - RM 38.00
Vodka, Housemade Tuak, Housemade Ginger Syrup, Lime Juice, Beer.
Tuak taste is strong but once the ice melts, it dilutes into a taste of sweet beer. As quoted by my friend hah.

Creole Mulatto - RM 38.00
Caraway Infused Tequila Blanco, Dry Vermouth, Housemade Sauerkraut Brine, Gentian Liqueur, Housemade Orange Liqueur, Lime Juice.
This though, was quite strong after sipping it down. It was a bit too much for me but for those who love alcohol, would love this.

Candy Wonderland - RM 22.00
Housemade Rhubarb Shrub, Strawberry Sparkling Grape Juice.
This is a mocktail and I love the strawberry sweet taste of it.

Custom Order (Something Special) - RM 42.00
This had a very strong orange smell but it was mix well with alcohol. Tasted like orange juice but enough alcohol to make you go a bit tipsy.

Custom Order (Something Pretty) - RM 42.00
Pretty presentation but the taste had a flower tea to it. Sweet but with alcohol.

Custom Order (Something HOT) - RM 42.00
This tasted like Creole Mulatto, absinthe was strong but it had the mint flavour in it.

Custom Order (Something Cool) - RM 42.00
This tasted like the left with strong absinthe but even stronger in absinthe.

It was a wonderful open house as there was lion dance and super cute "Chai Sheng Ye" and the longest Yee Sang I ever had. Haha. It was really a great night!

Overall, the staff were very attentive, bartender is really friendly who has a sense of humour. Could see lao ban niang walking around, smiling to all clients. I really like this place and hence brought my friends who loved alcohol over to try it. And obviously they were not disappointed at all.
Although the price was very "atas" but worth the price paid for.
