Baan Thai @ Greentown, Ipoh

So we found a quite nice place for Thai food.
Very chic and modern, not your ordinary thai experience for environment.

Baan Thai Menu

Thai Milk Tea - RM 4.90
Like any other usual milk tea, its fragrant and its thai milk tea alright. Not sure how to explain ya'll about this hah.

Thai Iced Green Tea - RM 6.90
Just like the milk tea, instead they mix it with green tea.

Rose Milk Latte - RM 7.90
Fragrant rose drink added with milk and walah, a pink latte!

Butterfly Pea Milk Latte - RM 7.90
Its the flower on top that made the color of the drink. It is soooo refreshing.

Lavender Lime Juice - RM 6.90
There wasn't any Lavender taste but the lime juice is wow!
Super refreshing, a perfect balance for soothing the kick of thai food in your taste buds.

Stir Fried Thai Kuey Teow - RM 16.00
Like glass noodles, thin kuey teow and delicious!

Tom Yum Chicken Fried Rice - RM 13.00
Tom Yum is not that spicy but you must request it as my friends said they do cook their things quite to a spiciness level so you got to tell them to mild down if you want to. Fragrant and delicious!

Thai Basil Chicken on Rice - RM 13.00
I compare this to Black Canyon, I prefer the latter. But theirs is not so bad, just thart I felt like eating a lot of beans than what I see on the plate haha.

Green Curry Chicken on Rice - RM 15.00
I expected green colored curry but this does not disappoint at all.
Very very fragrant curry with a kick of spice in it, even the rice is not the usual rice you eat at home.

Red Curry Chicken on Rice - RM 13.00
This curry taste very different from the green curry.
This curry has more spiciness to it than the Green Curry.
It's not bad either, each have their own taste.

An Overview.

Its not bad for a gathering of friends or family dinners cause it quite a cozy place to dine in. Quiet too and table big enough for many people to sit around for. Some of the food can still be improve but the drinks are superb!

Beautiful Monkeys @ Kampar [CLOSED]

So there's this really cute cafe opened in Kampar of where I studied and sleep and play and work, recommended by a colleague of mine, where they serve a selection of thai food here.
Not only that, they also serve authentic boat noodles of Thailand!!

So its called Beautiful Monkeys, where you see arts on wall of monkeys are all around the cafe.
Maybe the owner has a love for monkeys.

It's pretty creative where it looks like they paint it on their own.
It's really hard to paint such a big piece of art.

This is where the kitchen delivers out the food to the front.

The counter to pay your meal or anything else.

The colleagues looking and admiring the beautiful art of the wall. Hah.

So do remember to hashtag and follow them on Instagram!!!
They do update stuffs from time to time.

Don't really agree on the smoking part but I do agree on the quote.

It's MENU time!!!
They have new set lunch up in their facebook so do check it out.

Thai Milk Tea - RM 3.50
Lemongrass - RM 2.50

Cream Soda Syrup - RM 3.50

Boat Noodle (Thai Noodle) - RM 4.90
This is really good.
It's their famous dish I would say.
It's not really that spicy but it does brings up a little bit of heat and the taste of the soup is just nice.

Clear Soup Noodle (Mee Hoon) - RM 4.90
Well, clear soup noodles just taste the same don't they?

Boat Noodle ( Mee Hoon) - RM 4.90
Well this is exactly the same boat noodle with just a different noodle.

Pork Fried Rice - RM 5.90
I actually do love their fried rice.
It smells fragrant and it is delicious!

Grilled Pork Stick - RM 5.90
My cousin's wife is from Thailand and this tasted like the one she bought all the way from Thailand for my family to eat.
It is moist, tender and juicy when you bite it in.

Garlic Fried Rice - RM 7.90
This wasn't in the menu at that time, and boy, what a lucky colleague of mine get to have it.
It was fragrant and of course it tasted awesome!

Tom Yum Dry Noodle (Thai Noodle) - RM 4.90
It looks like the dry pan mee type eh?
But of course it taste totally different.
Chilli flakes were added later on.

Thai Pumpkin Custard - RM 5.00
For dessert, we had this.
The custard was really good but we felt it was not enough as the pumpkin was too much.
I never really liked pumpkin, and well, I couldn't stop myself from getting the second spoon out of it!

Coconut Ice Cream - RM 5.50
It was given to the Birthday Boy that night by the cafe.
It was really sweet of them to do so!
Who would say no to ice cream?

This was taken during the first time of my boyfriend and I dining there.
Sala Syrup - RM 3.50
It was really nice and refreshing, same taste as bandung but better.

Thai Style Omelette Rice - RM 4.90
I was so surprised by the price and boyfriend decided to order it.
But underneath the omelette was just white rice, and thought it would be fried rice at least.
But the omelette tasted awesome none the less.

Overall, it was a good day out with the colleagues and celebrated a very lovely birthday with the birthday boy.
We loved our meals and well, would definitely go back again.
With prices that are so cheap till your pants drop and get to taste the authentic boat noodles, what are you waiting for?
So do try some thai food if you're in the town of Kampar!
