Serai @ Pavilion KL

So the cousin introduce this place for us to dine our lunch at.
I haven't been on this 7th floor in Pavilion before.
Didn't bother to go up because I don't eat in Pavilion.

It is a really nice place to dine in.
Not really noisy and the atmosphere is great.

Sofas or chairs?
Which will you sit on?

It is pretty spacious inside too.
Many many seats available.

The back of the restaurant can oversee outside of Pavilion.

MENU time!!!

So what they basically serve there is all Asian Fusion.
You can see their full menu here: Serai Menu

Orange Blast - RM 10.50
Soda, orange juice, passion fruit, grenadine, topped with mint and crushed ice.

Milky Bandung - RM 8.50
Rose syrup with soda, fresh milk and a touch of pandan.

Serai Iced Tea - RM 12.00
Lemon sorbet, lemongrass extract and a hint of fresh mint.

Hot Lemongrass Tea - RM 6.50

Serai Platter - RM 25.00
Their signature dish features Serai rice served with portions of oxtail asam pedas, honey squid, fresh acar and ayam goreng rempah.
It is definitely a really big portion.

Sang Har Yin Yong - RM 19.00
Kueh teow and cripsy mee hoon served in egg broth, complemented with fresh water prawns and vegetables.
The kueh teow is under the mee hoon itself.
The egg broth is delicious that makes up the kueh teow and mee hoon really tasty.

Beef Noodle Soup - RM 20.00
Light and refreshing beef broth with flat rice noodles, topped with tenderloin slices, cilantro and crushed peanuts, served with homemade chilli paste.
The squeeze of the lime brightens up the flavour of the soup.
It definitely is light and refreshing.

Chicken Parmagiana - RM 25.00
Crumbed chicken breast topped with Italian tomato sauce melted cheddar cheese served with steak cut chips and garden salad.
It's a bit dry though, not moist enough.

An overview.

They also have a wide selection of cakes you can choose from to have your dessert.

Overall, well it's a normal Asian dish.
Acceptable taste even though I thought it was a bit pricey but heck, it's in Pavilion.
What is not pricey there.
It's definitely worth a bite, but not many bites.
Because the first bite always taste the best.

The Front Door @ Grocer's Inn, Jalan Sultan, Chinatown

Well well, this cafe was pretty deep inside of Chinatown.

Just remember to keep your eyes on a lookout on the right hand side, cause its a one way street, and you'll get to see it.

Inside, the chairs and tables are very structured in placing.
Which is quite nice, not very sempit in a way.

I like the fork, spoon and knife thingy hand on the wall.
Pretty rustic ehh?
And the tables that are next to the wall, they hang on some water so it's easy to grab and not troublesome for the waiters/waitresses.

When I saw the whole wall of this, I am amazed.
Not sure how long it took for them to paint the whole wall!
Amazing art!

Alas, it's MENU time!!!

Toast #12
With mayonnaise and cheddar at the bottom, topped with cucumber ribbon, along with fried turkey ham and hard-boiled egg at the top.
The mayonnaise and cheddar does works well together, it just gives out a very delicate taste.
Turkey ham was a bit hard to cut through but all together, it works well.

Toast #2
Cream cheese at the bottom, asparagus in between it and sauteed mushrooms, topped with hard-boiled egg.
The sauteed mushrooms are to die for!!! Even though it's pretty salty but they had the exact same taste that Antipodean's mushrooms are giving.
Amazing! I love love love this toast!!!

Toast #4
With cream cheese at the bottom, along with cucumber ribbon, covered with smoked salmon and topped with little capers.
Wooooo, the smoked salmon is just so awesome!!!
Basically its already smoked, so it doesn't have that fishy smell.

Toast #10
Peanut butter with caramelized banana.
Simple yet delicious.
Maybe should do this for breakfast next time.

Toast #7
Cheddar at the bottom, with strawberry jam and sliced strawberries on top.
Never knew strawberries goes well with cheddar.
New combination to me and its so sweet!

An overview.

Saw some others ordered their big breakfast meals and gosh, does it look good.
Sadly my friends don't eat beef, couldn't have a taste of it.
Well, I would assume its good.
Just one thing that I didn't really like. The toast itself.
It was pretty hard to cut and pretty hard to chew on too.
Hope they dont over toast it next time.
Total spending of RM 27, no service charge or GST. *WOOHOO*

Quartet @ TTDI

Back in TTDI! The first brunch I had in TTDI was Pickles and Fig.
So many more to explore and to eat.

Sadly the time I went, there was no discount on offpeak :(

Well, the arts on the wall, is pretty, interesting...

Look at all the different expressions of Hitler.

Cake cake cake.

Their cookies looks scrumptious though.

MENU time!!
Wanted to have Pink Flamingo but they told me there's none left D:
I really like that pinkish tea.

Tropical Cremosa - RM 13.50
Taste funny at first, but its soda so its good.
Boyfriend asked the waiter which is his favourite and he said this.
Well, not a bad choice.
Totally different from any drinks I've had in my life.

Eggs Hemingway - RM 24.90
Aggro muffin, smoked salmon slices, poached eggs, red hollandaise sauce, skillet potatoes with asparagus.
I just realize they didnt give me asparagus. *insert annoyed face*
The sauce was a little bit chili hot, spice up the taste buds.
Salmon was alright.
I love the potatoes though.
At first I was like, why so small one, but when I finished it, I was absolutely full.

Big Breaky - RM 24.90
Choice of fried/ scrambled/ poached eggs, skillet potatoes with asparagus, salad and crusty bread.
Can also select either salmon, beef bacon or crab cake.
Their crab cake is really good!
Seemingly better than the ones my grandma makes!
Other than that, everything else was just normal.

An overview.

Was actually a bit disappointed on how the food turn out.
I was like, why so colourless :(
Look so blend, but at least the taste was there.
Service was good though.
Total spending of RM 67.10, no service charge but GST included.
