Chang Jiang White Coffee @ Ipoh

This is not what I will typically blog about but... It definitely caught my eye when I went for the first time last year.

Other than Nam Heong, people seem to heard about Chang Jiang as well. From a local coffee turned into International brand selling, their coffee does not disappoints.

In a compound fairly big, that can accommodate lots of cars, the coffee shop looks like a building of a house. Giving the vibe of back to the 70s/80s, with wooden chairs and marble table tops, makes you missing your childhood a little.

Opposite the building, there's this little hut that's for people to take pictures of.
I think it looks really cool, you know, like the olden days.

The teacups and saucer which we drink from when we were little, reminds us a lot doesn't it?

It'd be great actually if they had like some historical facts about what is on the left picture. Probably what they used to grind the coffee beans? I don't know.

Or was it this one? *laughs at self*

Okay now, so going back to the building, it's a bungalow house la I assume that they turned it into a coffee shop. I actually called this the premium or high class coffee shop because even though they look rustic but damn well maintained like new.

You can opt to sit out as well, but usually everyone sits in during a hot afternoon. No Malaysians are that crazy to tahan the heat.

So there's a person who will greet you and bring you to your seat. It's kinda big inside and I actually did not expect lo. Cause last year came by, we just sat straight up ahead. Didn't know there were hidden rooms. *laughs*

Its a really big kopitiam inside hahaha. So they use pastel tiffany blue metal chairs here.

That is actually a store inside. And it's where you pay after your meal as well.

They of course sell their products in there hehe. Loads of it. Ain't cheap one okay.
Didn't went around because was in a rush to go somewhere else later.

 So more seats.

Ohh and there's this small space that leads to 3 more rooms where they have more seats inside. On the walls, there were pictures of I dont know who but I'm guessing (obviously) should be the ancestors of the person who created Chang Jiang internationally. *read a bit from the website lah*

So we were seated in one of the rooms. See, wooden chairs.

And so we were given their MENU!!!
So there were too many pages, I just put a slideshow lah for ya'll to see.

We were given a list to tick out the things we want from the menu and the waiter/waitress will come by and get your order.

Huang He Crossover (hot) - RM 4.20
It's basically cham teh la okay, fancy sangat the name kan haha.
It's really nice and I have said before, I cannot deal with cheap coffee beans.
So I can legit say this coffee is hebat!

White Coffee (cold) - RM 4.50
Their most signature coffee ever. Not too sweet or bitter.
It's just really good lah. So come try okay?

Soft Boiled Eggs - RM 3.90
Cause we wanted to eat some eggs and it was like 11.30am so yea.
If they don't know how to boil soft boiled eggs, I don't know what to say lah okay.
But yes, it's was good. Yolk wasn't harden!

Hometown Soup Mee - RM 10.90
I had thisssss. Because I wanted something soupy.
The soup smells sooooooo good but when I drank it down, the smell did not live up to the taste.
Felt like something wasn't enough for the taste.
It's sort of herbal but not very, and it's chicken meat inside the soup.
Noodles was alright, basically wan tan mee without wan tan.
The minced meat in the noodles adds a little saltiness to it, which was nice.

Signature Noodles - RM 9.20
Almost the same thing as mine but they had chicken feet, egg and tofu in it.
Husband said it was salty. I think it's meant to be salty, just look at the colour of the sauce lol.
Noodles, same same.

An Overview.

Overall, drinks were superb!
Definitely live up to their name.
Food was just a merely so-so.
It's crowded during breakfast and lunch so yea.
Want to try one of the best coffee? Come here lah.
Also, its a pork free zone.

  3. The outlook of the shop is very olden, just like the old coffee shop lots back in my home town too. I love having coffee and meals with my family and even now, whenever I go back, we will always have meals there too. Anyway, I love your honesty in reviewing the shops, every single time.
